I am a multi-disciplinary scientist interested in theoretical and practical aspects of robotics and mechatronics systems. My interests lie in using mathematics and physics for developing robotics systems focused on societal impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Me<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was born in Sohag, Egypt, in the winter of 1991 and lived most of my life in the beautiful cities Giza and Cairo.
After completing the International General Certificate of Secondary Education program in 2008, I started my BSc studies in Mechatronics engineering at the German University in Cairo (GUC) in Egypt, which I completed in 2013 with highest honors ranking among the top 5 of my class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the summer of 2012, I spent three months at the Julius Maximilians University Weurzburg in Germany, where I worked on my BSc thesis doing some research on control of a mobile robot.
In 2013, I was selected for a MSc fellowship at the GUC in the Mechatronics engineering department, where I spent three years teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and simultaneously conducting my MSc thesis in the field of aerial robotics. During the winter of 2014, I was assigned to the GUC-branch in Berlin, Germany for four months.
After receiving my MSc degree in 2015 with highest honors, I started sending out numerous applications for pursuing a PhD degree. After more than 16 unsuccessful attempts, I started my PhD research in 2016 at the Robotics and Mechatronics (RAM) department at the University of Twente in The Netherlands. This journey had the greatest impact in shaping my research interests and philosophy. Since receiving my PhD degree with honors (cum laude) in Jan. 2021, I have been working as a post-doctoral researcher at RAM till April 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since August 2024, I am an assistant professor in King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. I am affiliated to the Control and Instrumentation (CIE) department and the Interdisciplinary Research Center on Smart Mobility and Logistics (IRC-SML), where I am heading the Autonomous Robotics Manipulation for Logistics (ARM4L) lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
